Omicron has less impact on the hotel industry than other variants according to EXTENDAM barometer
While sanitary measures were taken to deal with the 5th wave of the pandemic and Omicron variant in January, the hotel industry recorded an occupancy rate of 31% in Europe, 14 points more than in January 2021. Unlike last year, Paris is showing a certain resilience with +7 points (36%) in Île-de-France compared to January 2021, and +15 points (36%) inner Paris. Another celebration: reservations started again in the last weeks of the month. Thus, the occupancy rates for February 2022 are changing by +11 to 16 points depending on the region.
