Since 2000, Le Garage Moderne—founded by Béatrice Aspart, Véronique Goglin, and Boufeldja Labri—has been more than just a repair shop. Located in Bordeaux, this 2,200 sqm space has become a local hub where residents from Bacalan and beyond come to share skills and moments of togetherness.

Through participatory workshops and cultural events, Le Garage Moderne promotes reuse, repair, and DIY culture while fostering solidarity. With over 5,000 members and nearly 300 volunteers, it’s become a vital part of the community, offering even a cooperative cafeteria and emergency food aid.
