💡#ChangemakersTimes – Hervé Degrève: Innovation to accelerate housing renovation

Energy-efficient renovation is the priority challenge of the 21st century if we are to meet carbon neutrality goals by 2050. France needs to carry out 700,000 energy renovations a year. We are yet far from the target.

That is why Hervé Degreve, Mathieu Guerchoux, and Sebastien Prot created Vasco: a genuine alternative to bank loans designed for households struggling to find financing to upgrade homes that have become uncomfortable and energy-inefficient.

Join us as we speak with Hervé Degreve to explore the origins, mission, and development of the new model offered by Vasco

[BONI.D] Saving drinking water: a challenge met by Saint-Brieuc Armor Agglomération!

The Brittany-based urban area has just launched its first connected industrial water dispensing station. This initiative gives new value to industrial water; while not potable, this water is suitable for many other uses.

For instance, trucks used to maintain wastewater and stormwater networks—previously supplied with drinking water—are now filled with wash water from the Croix Cholin plant.

Using a smartphone app, users unlock the station and fill their vehicles with industrial water, while the volumes drawn are automatically recorded.

Since October 2025, this system has already saved 400 m³ of drinking water. A simple, inspiring local innovation that deserves a shout-out! 🤘👍👏

[BONI.D] Uzaje: Making container reuse an everyday reality

Uzaje is a solution that should resonate with institutional catering providers, the food industry, manufacturers, restaurants, and fast-food chains.

Founded in 2019 by Emmanuel Auberger, Uzaje aims to make reuse an everyday reality—integrated into the sector’s business models—by offering an industrial washing service for reusable containers.

Using industrial facilities and processes that allow for the shared washing of containers in various shapes and materials across multiple sectors—including bottles, stainless steel trays, jars, tableware, cutlery, bowls, crates, and secondary packaging made of stainless steel, glass, or durable plastic—Uzaje enables the infinite reuse of containers. This leads to waste reduction, better resource management, and protection of both our health and the environment—all while generating growth and creating new jobs.

We applaud this impressive company, which is already established in Neuilly-sur-Marne (Île-de-France), Avignon and Strasbourg, and is coming soon to Lille, Nantes, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Lyon! 👏 👏

During a press tour showcasing the new district of Le Pont d’Issy, Françoise Raynaud, founder and director of LOCI ANIMA, answered Mathurin Serelle’s questions for BATIACTU.

This was an opportunity for the first French architect to have built a high-rise building in Manhattan to tell the story of a 18-years work carried out hand in hand with the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux, AXA Investment Manager (now BNP Paribas Asset Management), and Sefri-Cime.

A heartfelt congratulations to Dimitri Caudrelier and Kaouritin Neuder, the co-founders of this company, to whom we wish continued success.

In Issy-les-Moulineaux, 18 years to redesign the riverside district

Eighteen years were needed to see the new forms and the new face of the Pont d’Issy emerge. In Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine), this riverside district marks the culmination of a long-term urban project led by AXA IM Alts, investor, and the developer Sefri-Cime.

Launched in 2007, an international competition for the redevelopment of this former industrial site was won by urban planner and architect Françoise Raynaud, co-founder of the agency LOCI ANIMA (Latin for “the soul of the place”). She recounts its history and the choices made in the project through a guided tour and a newly published book, “Le Pont d’Issy, la reconquête des berges de Seine” (The Pont d’Issy, the Reconquest of the Seine Riverbanks).
