Since 2011, La Poudrerie has been revolutionizing theater by putting the residents of Sevran and northeastern Seine-Saint-Denis at the heart of each creation. Under the leadership of Valérie Suner, this state-supported theater focuses on participatory productions where audience members become performers: creating plays based on their own experiences and sometimes hosting immersive performances in their own homes! 🎭🏠
With 120 performances annually in living rooms and parks, La Poudrerie invites everyone to reflect, debate, and share a convivial moment on key social issues. The initiative not only removes financial barriers by offering free shows but also strengthens bonds between generations, neighborhoods, and cultures.
