In Paris, a Constructive Inventory à la Prévert on Rue Lafayette

In the heart of Paris’s 10th arrondissement, REDMAN, Data Architectes, and Think Tank Architecture are working together to transform a historic block into a mixed-use space combining offices, social housing, and shops. Each building tells its story, with customized construction techniques preserving its authenticity while integrating modern elements.

Metal beams or wood, metal and thorn wood facades, wooden frameworks, reinforced concrete… a patchwork of materials and know-how illustrates REDMAN’s commitment to rethinking this ensemble with the utmost respect for Parisian urban planning.

Amélie Luquain recently explored the details of the flagship QG 206 Lafayette project with Vaqué Charles-Axel, REDMAN Program Director, Colin Reynier (Data Architectes), Marine De La Guerrande (Think Tank Architecture), Morgane Amiel, REDMAN Communication Director, and Annabelle Ledoux, Founder of Grandes Idées. This operation was carried out on behalf of Financière Saint James.

A Historic Milestone for Energy in France: Renewable Energies Exceed 30% of Electricity Consumption for the First Time!

A welcome development for the French energy sector: in 2023, renewable energies crossed a symbolic threshold, accounting for over 30% of total electricity consumption. This represents a six-point increase from the previous year, revealing a positive trend towards greener and more sustainable energy.

This significant rise is largely attributed to the expansion of wind farms and solar installations across the country. With a 23% increase in renewable energy production, France confirms its commitment to the energy transition.

Although hydropower remains the primary source of renewable energy, wind and solar energy have also made notable advances. Offshore wind, in particular, now significantly contributes to national energy production.

This new energy reality is not uniform across the territory. Regions like Hauts-de-France and Nouvelle-Aquitaine stand out for their leadership in onshore wind and solar energy.

However, despite this progress, France still has a way to go to catch up with its European neighbors in renewable energy. With countries like Germany, Spain, and Portugal already surpassing thresholds of 50% or even 60%, France must intensify its efforts to accelerate its energy transition.

This achievement demonstrates the considerable potential of renewable energies in building a more sustainable and responsible energy future.

[BONI.D 💡] J’accueille: Making Housing a Tool for Inclusion

Every year, nearly 50,000 people obtain refugee status in France. But this step often only marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with challenges. Language learning, socio-cultural adaptation, and residential stability remain major obstacles. Founded by SINGA in 2015, J’accueille was created to address this reality. Its mission: to support refugees towards autonomy by connecting them with individuals willing to open their homes and share more than just their roof.

With over 1,200 people welcomed across 23 French departments, J’accueille embodies the essence of inclusion. Opening one’s door means offering stability but also creating connections and sharing experiences. For those welcomed, it is an opportunity to catch their breath, thrive in their new environment, and envision the future.

To welcome others, you need a free room, sincere willingness, and a bit of preparation. Beyond cultural differences, it is about establishing an equal relationship.

Changes within the REDMAN team

Marine Seemuller takes over the direction of the Parisian agency of REDMAN, and Nicolas Decloquement becomes Deputy General Manager in charge of the group’s operational activities, alongside Sophie Rosso, in charge of development, and Pierre-Emmanuel Quintana, in charge of Corporate functions.

Helping our employees grow is part of our mission. It is always a source of pride to see employees commit long-term to Redman and contribute to the project. Nicolas and Marine’s promotions are a logical continuation of their successes within the Parisian agency, and they are now facing new challenges. By giving Nicolas the reins of operational direction for the group’s promotion branch, we aim to strengthen our expertise across the territory, in a period where operational continuity is a major challenge,” comment Matthias Navarro and Nicolas Ponson, co-founders of the REDMAN group.
