Claudie-Haigneré middle school in the Gard department wins France’s energy savings’ competition’s bronze CUBE

As part of Ifpeb’s CUBE.S competition, a contest challenging middle schools and high schools across France engaging them in energy saving, Rochefort-du-Gard’s Claudie-Haigneré middle school was awarded for its performance. The institution achieved a 19,6% decrease on its consumption. To reach that goal, the middle school put in place concrete measures such as reducing the temperature in rooms by one degree, turning off gas boilers 45 minutes before the end of classes or setting up presence sensors to avoid empty lit rooms.

EXTENDAM creates the first Dutch ELLE House!

EXTENDAM has signed the walls and business assets of Park 6, a 4-star hotel located in Amsterdam, in partnership with Black Label Hospitality, who will manage its operations.

 

After some refurbishment work, the establishment will host the first ELLE House in the Netherlands: a hotel based on the ELLE Hospitality concept, positioned within the lifestyle and boutique hotel segment. This new ELLE House will enjoy a prime location in the museum district, just minutes away from the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum.

 

This venture takes place in a city experiencing growing demand for hotels, while its accommodation offerings remain limited. “By investing in this upcoming ELLE House Amsterdam, we are addressing an identified need that will cater to the upscale tourism trend,” notes Jean-Marc Palhon, Chairman of EXTENDAM.

Le Quotidien de la Réunion et de l’Océan Indien honors energy saving contest CUBE.S

Two Reunion schools were rewarded on March 30th at l’Académie du Climat in Paris during the award ceremony of energy saving contest CUBE.S.

 

Among the award recipients, Thérésien Cadet de Sainte-Rose middle school won a bronze Cube for its 19.5% in energy savings. Through two projects serving as guideline all year, La Salle Saint-Charles high school earned on their part a prize for best pedagogical integration. “Tomorrow’s Home in La Réunion” demonstrates how energy saving has its place in building tomorrow’s homes and “Energy Challenges” involve students competing within classrooms.
