At the crossroad of innovation and empathy is OTO, a solution designed to address a need: therapeutic hugging. This chair offers a nest, an oasis of calm amidst the sensory tumult of everyday life: a controlled and soothing embrace experience.
The concept has its roots in a specific request from the ADAPEI of Blain Medical-Educational Institute. Within the autistic universe, where sensory overload can be overwhelming, the need for a physical embrace has proven essential.
Alexia Audrain, a cabinetmaker and furniture designer, created OTO, merging science and design to offer a safe and comforting space. A meticulous exploration of user needs was conducted through close collaboration with the educational team of the IME, and a year and a half of research and development gave birth to OTO.
Following a meeting of an interministerial committee led by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, with a new investment fund of 300 million euros planned to finance sustainable tourism, Jean-Marc Palhon, Chairman of EXTENDAM, represented La Fabrique du Tourisme on the microphone of Thomas Pinaroli for France Culture’s Matins on Wednesday, May 8. A great opportunity to take stock of the industry’s health, the springboard of Paris 2024 Olympics, the digitization of hotels, and its environmental shift.
