The hotel real estate market picked up a few colors in 2021. While it has accelerated the renewal of accommodation concepts, hotels are opening up to new horizons, such as offices, events, mixed use and ecology : “There is true real estate engineering to be implemented to increase our ability to change the destination of buildings in the short and medium term and thus meet the needs of society, such as housing for seniors and students”, explains Jean- Marc Palhon, Chairman of EXTENDAM. [BONI.D] Hector Le Collector transforms bio-waste into energy!

Founded in 2020 by Quentin Saieb and Valentin Famose, Hector le Collector is developing a solution that transforms organic waste into energy. To do this, Hector creates collection points in companies to recover bio-waste: leftover meals, coffee grounds, fruit peelings, etc.

The company also offers individual kits to volunteer employees to bring waste from their homes. The collection is then organized in an electric van and the waste is sent for methanization and transformed into energy!

A responsible way to put an end to incineration and landfilling by putting bio-waste in recycling channels.

Maud Caubet has also worked on the density and heights in order to emphasize the contemporary aspect of the building with a completely renovated façade and a roof topped with a glass greenhouse. This intervention renews the silhouette of the building while preserving an architectural heritage from the 1970s.

EXTENDAM launches the FPCI Convert Hotel, a fund dedicated to the reversibility of hotel assets

Why not transform obsolete or under-utilized hotel assets by orienting them towards a multi-use operation that meets the real needs of neighborhoods, residents, and consumers over time? This is what EXTENDAM is now proposing through the new FPCI Convert Hotel. This transformation can go as far as converting hotels that are too small and not profitable enough for commercial use into residential accommodation.

This fund will thus support the needs of “the new generation of hotel industry entrepreneurs, who today want more flexible and plural models” according to Jean-Marc Palhon, President of EXTENDAM.

Even if she believes that in 2021, some appointments have been missed for the economy, the managing director is delighted to see the climate and inclusion becoming major issues for small and large companies. The French Presidency of the European Union and the presidential election are two new momentum and great opportunities to deploy, on a larger scale, a responsible economy that will allow us all to approach the coming years in good conditions.
