Led by Ilias Papageorgiou, PILA is an architecture studio based in Athens and New York that creates environments for culture, working and living around the world. Ilia Papageorgiou stresses “We believe in architecture’s enduring character to create meaningful connections between people and their environment as a counterpoint to the speed of contemporary living. By reimagining existing ideas around program and function, physical spaces can offer new ways of experiencing the world”.

PILA Studio is leading and has already led several projects in France such as the Meisenthal cultural complex, the Reinventer la Seine project at Place Mazas or MKNO, a Reinventing Cities project in Bobigny.

As 2020 begins, we wanted to share with you the great idea of Sandrine Guyot and Laurent Pezé. Thanks to them, materials that are rarely reused have found a new use. But what are we talking about? Seashells! The Friendly Frenchy brand offers eco-responsible glasses made in France! The frames of these glasses are manufactured without any plastic, by mixing oyster, mussel or scallop shells, recovered from Breton and Norman food professionals, with vegetable oil. In 2015, Jean Moreau and Baptiste Corval founded Phenix, a start-up which is revolutionizing the concept of waste by proposing a redistribution system that guarantees a circular economy limiting our impact while creating many jobs. When it was created, Phenix first focused on finding a solution to fight against food waste in distribution. Since then, the company has widened its scope of intervention and offers solutions for other types of goods? Because technology is an integral part of our way of life as of the 21st century general knowledge ; because learning to code helps to develop and reinforce many other skills ; and for many other more than relevant reasons, Amelia Matar, now associated with Perrine Legal, founded COLORI a little over two years ago. Inspired by Montessori pedagogy, the Colori method allows young people to learn and master the computer language without a screen. The code can indeed be learned without using digital media to limit the exposure of the youngest. Colori offers training and workshops from 3 years. An educational initiative that we applaud!
