[BONI.D]: Le Pavé®, building tomorrow by cleaning up today’s world

In 2015, more than 6 billion tonnes of plastic waste were lying in landfills, in the wilderness or in the ocean. For Le Pavé®, current solutions for sorting and recycling plastic are only postponing the problem without offering a sustainable response.

This is why they have developed Le Pavé® in Pantin. Both polyvalent and with infinite creative potential, the materials are created in their workshop and are entirely made up from collected and  locally transformed plastic waste. Le Pavé® offers innovative designs with varied applications: furniture, worktops, consoles… whiche are 100% made in France in a definitely circular economy!

The French hotel industry consolidates its recovery according to the EXTENDAM barometer

The 19th EXTENDAM barometer brings good news! The month of October consolidated the recovery of the tourism industry, particularly in the Paris region. Driven by a return of international and business customers, Île-de-France region saw its activity increase by 12 points, with an occupancy rate of 65%.

The recovery is also confirmed in Europe, with an occupancy rate constantly increasing, going from 21% in April to 61% at the end of October 2021.

The barometer also reports an extension of the reservation window, which reaches now 6 days whereas it has long been confined to a trend of last minutes due to the uncertain sanitary context. Encouraging trends for the French hotel industry!

Are ESG criteria a constraint or a performance leverage in private equity?

On January the 14th, François Manenti, Sales Director of EXTENDAM, took part in the “Private Equity and ESG: performance leverage or constraint?” round-table at the Grand Forum du Patrimoine LIVE. This was a great opportunity for him to stress on EXTENDAM’s belief in the performance levers that are these criteria, on which the management company relies in its investment choices.

A brand new exemplary district in Nanterre

Creating a rich ecosystem, a green oasis in Nanterre – La Défense, Nouvelle Vague exemplary housing programme designed by Maud Caubet has just been delivered. Inclusive and focused on the living, the program features high environmental performances and guarantees outdoor space for 70% of its housing units. A milestone for tomorrow’s projects?

“In my opinion, architectural gesture without quality of life and uses serves no purpose. This everyday comfort is largely due to the care taken in designing outdoor spaces for each of the residents, whatever shape they may have. The relationship with nature and living things is crucial! “explains Maud Caubet.

[BONI.D] Why accumulate objects when you can go to the library?

So many objects we possess are used only once a year, bought for a specific occasion (work, event, a sudden and fleeting passion…). Sharing instead of consuming is the alternative offered by objects libraries such as Manivelle in Switzerland or La Boutique du Partage in Nantes. A whole range of everyday life items are available for loan, just like books. Great initiatives to fight over-consumption and to put people and mutual help back at the centre of our lives while saving money and supporting circular economy.

We wish this movement to spread throughout Europe!

Hotels: real estate investors remain on the lookout despite Covid-19

Despite available liquidity and appetite of certain investors, the hotel real estate market did not escape from the shock of the 2020 health crisis. However, the hotel industry still seems to be a safe bet for investors, given that the number of transactions has remained stable compared to 2019. “It is a market that is regulated more by volume than by price. There are no sold off assets. There are some drops in the value, but they are relatively low, from 10 to 15%”, corroborates Jean-Marc Palhon, Chairman of EXTENDAM, representing 222 hotels and 2 billion euros in asset value in Europe, during his last interview for Les Echos.
