Changemakers Times #9: facing COVID-19, taking collective action

“I live this experience as an enriching and positive period that helps to put the notion of usefulness back into everyday life. It even impacts the way I look upon my work on a daily basis”.

Anna Perehinec is in charge of urban projects for a large real estate group. A position of responsibility, focused on urban, ecological and social transition. When the health crisis linked to Covid-19 broke out, she did not hesitate to get involved as a volunteer with the Hospitals of Paris organization to work as closely as possible with nursing staffs and patients. Working with IMOTHEP and COVISAN associations, Anna tells us about her involvement in this unprecedented and strange period. She shares with us how volunteering changed her vision of life and the meaning of our daily lives.

Confined to Brussels, Maud Caubet answered Architecture d’Aujourd’hui questions

At a time when France is gradually leaving lockdown, every structure is reorganising themselves, mixing remote and presential work when they can, each one seeking its new rhythm. A good timing to take the time and read the interview given by Maud Caubet to Architecture d’Aujourd’hui magazine for its Confiné.e.s series.
Views on the world of tomorrow, architectural practices in the current particular context and the months to come’s one, new ways of working, new ways of thinking. AA Architecture d’Aujourd’hui magazine gives architects a voice by questioning their vision of the situation but also their cultural recommendations.

[BONI.D] How to consume: what if we regain control?

Have you ever imagined being able to choose the products on offer in your local shop or supermarket? Knowing everything about prices and where the money goes? Taking part in its operation and even being its co-owner? All this is possible with the participative and collaborative supermarkets that are spreading out in France.

While the concept is not new, it is making a strong comeback and taking on even more meaning in tomorrow’s world, which we hope will be more local.

Let’s discover La Louve. Following the model of the Park Slope Food Coop developed in Brooklyn since 1973, La Louve in Paris is the precursor of this type of business in France. Since 2017, more than forty initiatives of this kind have been growing in France. Their main principles: a non-profit cooperative status, capital belonging to the users of the business only (the purchase of shares is essential to access it) and participation (the owners each give 3 hours of their month to the structure).

Do you like the idea ? Go and find the cooperative and participative supermarket closest to you.

[BONI.D] Message in a bottle : understood !

10 outdoor sports athletes, a waste sorting centre. This is all that freeskier Mathieu Navillod and photographer Dom Daher needed to carry out this punchy journalistic photo project.

The “A Bottle in the Sea” report shows spectacularly staged pictures of athletes practicing their sport amidst all kinds of waste. Shocking images that argue in favour of the quick implementation of large-scale environmental acts. All of the duo’s shots go in pairs: problem and solution. More than an alarm raise, they show us that the solutions are there and are just waiting to be deployed in a large scale.

A message in a bottle which must find a maximum of recipients (and which is already on the right track).

To admire the project and learn more about the solutions it is this way

Tribute to Jean-Philippe Ruggieri

We would like to pay tribute to Jean-Philippe Ruggieri. His teams, his partners and all the players of the real estate sector liked him for his professionalism and his humanity. A man whom we had the pleasure of getting to know better during a great joint work with L’Avenir en Héritage team in the Athletes’ Village competition. All our thoughts are with his family and the beautiful Nexity team.
